The Last DanceI have long since been told,The Last Dance by TheAmericanRealist
'There are bonds that sadness
Could never overcome';
And I desperately hope
That ours is one such bond,
For if you go, I fear
I shall be forced to waltz
Forever in shadows
Seeking to fill the hole in my heart.
But to do so is to
Blissfully try and fill
A bottomless jar with
Nothing more than water.
I beg you to ponder:
Can I find happiness
In a world without you?

The Bard's ReturnNow I know I have been gone for some timeThe Bard's Return by TheAmericanRealist
But as a storyteller in his prime,
I think it only right for my return
To be far from normal... it must be sublime.
For a true bard lives only for his craft,
And believe me, I know it would be daft
To produce anything less than heartfelt.
Indeed it would be much simpler just to graft
Together sweet yet meaningless nothings
And blissful lies, as falsehood often rings
More verily than the truth ever could.
But here I promise, that by the Muse who sings
Through my essence; I will never betray
The bond we forged during these two years. Nay,
My flaws are clear, and with all submission
I lay bear these words and my beating heart: May
Fortuna guide our paths to a better, brighter future.

|I am Michael Riter, and I'm here to ask you a question. Is an artist not entitled to freedom of expression? 'No!' says the man in Congress, 'That piece belongs to the rich.' 'No!' says the man with a different opinion from your own, 'It belongs to myself.' 'No!' says the bigoted conservative, 'It belongs to no one.' I rejected those answers; instead, I chose something different. I chose the impossible. I chose... deviantART, a site where the writer would not fear the censor, where the artist would not be bound to draw within the lines, Where everyone's art, no matter political ideology could be shared with the world! And with the freedom of expression, deviantART can become your site as well.|
